Travelling within Palawan is now more convenient, making the province a virtual network of Adventure Island. By air, it takes 55 minutes from Manila via Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines, and Zest Air. It also accessible to travel from Cebu, Boracay, Davao, and Bohol onto Puerto Princesa City. By Sea, it takes 18 to 22 hours from Manila on board the Negros Navigation , 2GO, and WG and A.
By Road from Puerto Princesa City to Port Barton
Using public transport located at New San Jose Bus Terminal in Puerto Princesa City, the local sharing shuttle van will take around 2 ½ – 3 hours. The shuttle van leaves at 6:00am, 8:00am, 10:00am, 12noon, 1:00pm, 5:00pm daily trips. Port Barton is situated 166 kilometers Northwest of Puerto Princesa City.
Upon arrival in Port Barton Terminal, you may register in the Port Barton Tourism Assistance Centre and pay the Environmental card and walked your feet onto resort as it’s only 10 minutes or take a pubic tricycle.
Travelling can be achieved by use of private transport and takes about two and half hours (2 ½ hours) by main road then about thirty minutes cross country through the mountains and jungle. Please see the “Booking and Reservation” page (click here) for private van and boat transfer.
From Puerto Princesa – San Vicente – Port Barton
Using private regular boat from San Vicente town or San Vicente Airport bound to Port Barton it takes one (1) hour if the weather permitted. It takes 2 – 2 ½ hour if you take private air-conditioned van. Please note: No daily or regular any transport from San Vicente – Port Barton or vice versa. By Private Van from Puerto Princesa City – Sabang (Underground River) – Port Barton
Travel time approximately 2 ½ hours from Puerto Princesa City to Sabang by using private air-conditioned van. Do the Underground river tour then after the tour continue travel onto Port Barton about 2 ½ – 3 hours travel.
One of the New Nature Wonder of the World “ Underground River “ is a natural wonder featuring an 8.2 kilometer navigable underground river, reputed to be the world’s longest that wind through a spectacular cave before emptying out in to the South China Sea. This river flows within a deep cavern under rugged limestone and marble cliffs, special features of the park. Known as one of the world’s wonders, this river stretches eight kilometers deep into an underground lagoon with crystalline waters. Within the hallowed recesses, one winds through the tunnel aboard a paddleboat with outriggers to be enthralled at every turn, which reveals stalactite pillars, rock formations, and domed amphitheater. The park is located in Bahile, Puerto Princesa, Palawan located 81 kilometers from the city proper, the place can be reached through Barangay Cabayugan to Sabang, from where one could take a pump boat ride to the Underground River, or hike through a monkey trail.
